Due to the new edition of Demon's Soul for PlayStation 5, from software itself had set heavily under pressure to provide for Elder Ring the best graphic, according to Hideaway Miyazaki. The studio had never really cared for the visual aspects of his games, they should be story-driven and so the players shackles.
In an interview with the EDGE magazine, FROMSoftware President and Elder Ring Director Hideaway Miyazaki, who was responsible for Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Dark Souls 3, Blood borne and Senior: Shadows the Twice, on this topic:
Yes, I'm pretty sure that our graphic artists feel this pressure more than any other.
Miyazaki confirmed that the graphical rendering is generally an area that wants to improve from software.
Not only with Elder Ring, but with all the games we do. Graphical playback is not something that we consider the top priority. What we demand on the graphic side depends on the systems and requirements of the game itself and has less priority compared to the other elements of development.
So that's always an area where I have to apologize for my graphics team, because I know that you are working extremely hard. And they have worked extremely hard to Elder Ring — our graphics system team and our programmers have driven a lot of new features to create the best-based games we have ever done.
Elder Ring appears on February 25 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X / S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
